Challenge:

Cessna wanted to develop a metal bonding machine that would increase structural metal bond capacity, reduce vacuum bagging requirements and save time.

 

Solution:

AMI designed, built and tested a machine that allows multiple parts to be bagged simultaneously without the need for individual bagging or an autoclave. The metal bonding machine adhesively bonds flat aluminum parts together using a combination of computer controlled heat and pressure in a controlled environment.
