Challenge:

Balco, Inc., one of the world’s leading manufacturers of innovative architectural products and services, wanted to build a machine that would eliminate the need for manual application of non-slip abrasive mixture to aluminum stair nosings, and increase production efficiency.

Solution:

AMI designed, developed and tested a process machine that streamlines abrasive application without interfering with Balco’s current mixing process. This machine increases Balco’s production capacity by at least three times, processing approximately 10 feet of material per minute, in comparison to the old method that processed 10 feet every three minutes.
